AFTER INTRODUCING THE GLA 250 e and C 350 e with EQ hybrid technology earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz Australia is now offering another popular model as a plug-in hybrid variant. The Mercedes-Benz GLC 350 e 4MATIC SUV features an electric range of 132km (NEDC tested) and a comprehensive suite of features for both driver and passengers.

Drivetrain and performance

The model’s hybrid program prioritises electric power in urban conditions, with the ability to reach up to 140km/h on electric power alone. The GLC 350 e 4MATIC SUV combines a four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a system output of up to 230kW and 550Nm.

Three additional DYNAMIC SELECT drive programmes – Electric, Battery Level, and Hybrid – allow drivers to tailor performance to the journey, while a haptic accelerator pedal helps manage transitions between electric and hybrid power.

Features and specification

Standard equipment is extensive and includes AVANTGARDE exterior styling with privacy glass, metallic paint, and aluminium-look side steps. The rear axle self-levelling suspension provides a consistent ride height regardless of load.

Inside, the AVANTGARDE interior features heated and memory front seats with lumbar support, a head-up display, ambient lighting, and KEYLESS-GO convenience. A panoramic sunroof further enhances passenger comfort.

Connectivity and convenience are enhanced through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, wireless phone charging, digital radio, and a fingerprint scanner, while design touches include illuminated door sills, a chrome interior package, and a comprehensive interior lighting system.

Charging options include AC charging at up to 11kW as standard, allowing a full charge in around two hours under optimal conditions. An optional DC charging package increases capacity to 55kW, enabling a charge from zero to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes. Two cables are included as standard: a charging cable for wallbox and public charging stations and a cable for home charging from a general-purpose outlet.

Optional packages

Customers may tailor their GLC 350 e with a range of packages. The Sport Package adds AMG Line exterior and interior details such as sport seats, multifunction sports steering wheel in nappa leather and wheel arch liners in vehicle colour. This package also adds larger brake discs on the front axle and larger 20-inch wheels. The Night Package can be added when the Sports Package is selected to enhance exterior elements with high-gloss black trim and 20-inch wheels in black finish.

The Plus Package consolidates advanced technology, including the Driving Assistance Plus Package, Burmester 3D surround sound, DIGITAL LIGHT with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection Plus, heat and noise-insulating acoustic glass, and MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation.
