AUCTION HOUSE COLLECTING CARS is putting runs on the board, with strong sales of classic, performance and collectible cars in September. Another 105 auction lots were sold, achieving a combined sale value of $A7.15 million, 20 percent higher than August.
Collecting Cars’ September 2025 sales results are more than 52 percent higher than this time last year.
Collecting Cars’ new Sealed Bids auction service had a very successful month, adding extra numbers as new sellers and buyers take advantage of this discreet process for quick sales and purchases.
“Collecting Cars’ auction sale results remain strong,” said Lee Hallett, Head of APAC at Collecting Cars. “As we recently forecast, the arrival of spring has encouraged sellers to take advantage of collector car buyers actively looking to enjoy the warmer months ahead.
“We were also surprised at the number of sellers looking to take advantage of our new Sealed Bids service.”
Collecting Cars’ sales highlights from September 2025 include:
- 1986 Ferrari Testarossa – $A183,000
- 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SL Pagoda –$A140,500
- 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX – $A151,480
- 1967 Ford Falcon XR GT – $A155,000
- 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet – $A300,000
Heritage and collectible number plates also attracted strong sales during September, including a collection of nine 0-series number plates from a single collection which sold for more than $A300,000. Collecting Cars’ October heritage number plate auction goes live on 21 October. This seven-day auction will offer many highlights, including NSW heritage number plate ‘69’.
