With new drivetrains, next-generation PHEV technology, a bold new design language and a significant uplift in standard equipment, the 2026 Formentor marks a new chapter for Cupra’s most iconic model. The result is a Formentor that feels sharper, more emotional and progressive than ever.

Building on the global success of the Formentor – Cupra’s first model uniquely designed and developed by the brand – the refreshed Formentor arrives in Australia as the most advanced and expressive iteration to date. Designed, developed and produced in Barcelona, this evolution brings Cupra’s latest design language, next‑generation electrified technology and performance enhancements to Australian customers, tailored for local expectations and driving conditions.

The updated Formentor introduces four new or upgraded drivetrains, giving customers a broader choice across efficiency, everyday performance and electrified dynamism.

Formentor S – 110kW Mild Hybrid

Formentor VZe – 200kW Gen2 Plug-in Hybrid

The refreshed Formentor introduces Cupra’s evolved design language, bringing a stronger, more provocative presence to the road.

The Extreme Package expands: now available for VZx and VZe

Following the strong response to its introduction on Leon, the Extreme Package is now available on both Formentor VZx ($ 7000) and VZe ($ 6500), reinforcing Cupra’s conviction that PHEV can absolutely be sporty.

The Extreme Package includes:

• Sabelt CUP Bucket seats with carbon fibre backs
• Enceladus Grey upholstery with Seaqual and Dinamica seat appointments
• Akebono performance brakes (VZx) / Brembo performance brakes (VZe)
• Matrix cascading headlights
• Dark gloss interior accents (in place of copper)

This package positions the VZe as one of the most dynamic PHEVs in its segment and elevates the VZx into a sharper, more track inspired daily driver.

A halo above the range: the Formentor VZ5

With the limited‑allocation Formentor VZ5 now in pre‑order, the refreshed Formentor range benefits from the halo of Cupra’s most extreme and emotionally charged performance model. The VZ5 amplifies excitement across the lineup, reinforcing the Formentor’s place at the heart of Cupra’s identity.
