THE ELECTRIC FORD MUSTANG MACH-E has hardly been setting the world alight in terms of sales, but Ford is hoping to turn that around with significant updates. The updates will reach Australia by year’s end, featuring enhanced performance, greater efficiency, and refreshed styling.

The updated models are scheduled to arrive in dealerships from October 2025, with the Mach-E continuing to be available in three series: the rear-wheel drive Select, the extended-range rear-wheel drive Premium, and the high-performance flagship all-wheel drive GT.

The recommended price (all plus on road costs) for the MY25 Mustang Mach-E range is as follows:

Mustang Mach-E Select: $65,990

Mustang Mach-E Premium: $80,490

Mustang Mach-E GT: $98,490

“Ford Australia is focused on delivering a more compelling package in the expanding electric vehicle market,” said Ambrose Henderson, Director of Marketing for Ford Motor Company of Australia.

“The MY25 Mustang Mach-E does exactly that, offering enhanced features, striking new design inside and out, along with more power for Select and GT variants, and a new, energy efficient heat pump for the entire line up, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and innovation.”

The Mach-E GT receives a substantial performance boost, with maximum system power increasing to 434kW and torque climbing to 955Nm. This power is complemented by an increased estimated range, now up to 515km (WLTP).

The entry-level Select model also gets a power increase to 212kW and 525Nm of torque. The Premium model’s torque output also rises to 525Nm. The battery chemistry remains unchanged for each variant.

Additionally, charging times have improved for both the Premium and GT, dropping from an estimated 45 minutes to 36 minutes to recharge from 10 percent to 80percent when using a 150kW DC fast charger.

A key enhancement across the entire lineup is the addition of a new heat pump, designed to improve the vehicle’s energy efficiency while heating or cooling the cabin.

Both Select and Premium variants benefit from new suspension hardware and tuning that aims to provide a more comfortable ride without losing the Mach-E’s sporting feel. For MY25 the non-GT models feature updated sway bars, springs and dampers.

The 2025 Mustang Mach-E also introduces several design and feature updates both inside and out:

Updated Wheel Designs: All models in the range will sport new alloy wheel designs.

Refined Exterior Styling: The Premium series now features Matte Black lower front, rear, and side bumper cladding, with wheel arch mouldings changing from gloss black to body colour. The GT model boasts a refreshed grille design.

Streamlined Interior: A new column-mounted monostable shifter replaces the previous rotary gear dial, creating more space in the centre console for enhanced storage options.

Improved Seating Comfort: Front row seats have been upgraded to offer 10-way power adjustment, replacing the previous 8-way configuration.

Unified Headlamp Design: The Select series now comes standard with the same projector beam headlamps as the Premium and GT models, ensuring consistent lighting performance across the lineup.

For the new model year, customers can choose from a total of eight paint options, including six new colours: Eruption Green, Molten Magenta, Terrain, Velocity Blue, Glacier Grey, and Grabber Yellow. Shadow Black continues as the no-cost exterior colour option, while prestige paint is available for $700.

The updated 2025.00MY Mustang Mach-E will be available for customer deliveries starting from October 2025.
