GAC HAS TAKEN ANOTHER step forward with the launch of its fourth model onto the Australian market, the compact electric hatchback, the GAC Aion UT.

Deliberately tailored to meet the demands of contemporary city life, the Aion UT is GAC’s second model from the company’s all-electric product line, following the release of the all-electric medium-sized SUV, the Aion V.

With a silhouette penned by GAC’s Milan Design Centre and inspired by influences of Europe’s fashion capital, the Aion UT features a sleek fastback design, two-tone floating roof and pixel graphics that GAC says “enhance its tech-savvy character”.

Up front, the Aion UT is equipped with the world’s first “eyebrow style” headlamp design.

Interior space is generous, thanks to the model’s longer 2750mm wheelbase.

The Aion UT is set to build on the successful launch of GAC’s debut range in November last year. Since then, the Aion V, M8 PHEV and EMZOOM have already attracted attention from buyers, delivering high levels of quality and technology in an attainable package.

Kevin Shu, President, GAC Australia, said, “Our strategy of ‘in Australia, for Australia’ will see GAC bringing more than 10 models to the Australian market. The GAC Aion UT showcases the strength of GAC’s product portfolio, combining elegant design with clever technology that genuinely enhances the daily lives of its owners. I have no doubt this model will resonate strongly with Australians seeking an intelligent, city-focused vehicle to navigate the nation’s urban landscapes. We look forward to contributing to grow along with our customers here in Australia.”

Pricing, technical specifications and a full equipment list for Australian models will be released closer to the vehicle’s availability in Q2, 2026.
