THE GEELY X2 HATCHBACK made its debut at the Melbourne Motor Show (10-12 April) and Geely has released more details about the all-electric hatchback.

The brand has also announced a special no-deposit pre-order offer during the show run (which, by the time you read this, will have expired). All Geely EX2s pre-ordered online through the Geely Auto Australia website or from dealerships nationwide from Friday 10 April to Sunday 12 April and delivered before 30 September will include a free EV charger and free premium paint. It’s worth asking if the offer has been extended.

From launch, a total of six exterior paint colours will be available for customers to choose from, including standard colour Moon White and premium options Aurora Green, Comet Grey, Nebula Beige, Jupiter Pink, and Star Silver.

The new Geely EX2, which was the number one best-selling car in China last year, measures in at 4135mm long, 1805mm wide and 1570mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2650mm. The model sits on the GEA (Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture) platform, like its Geely EX5 and Starray EM-i siblings, allowing smarter use of space and no less than 30 storage compartments to be placed throughout the cabin.

The hatchback is powered by a single electric motor mounted at the rear of the vehicle, powering the rear wheels exclusively. Power and torque, as well as battery size, will be confirmed closer to the vehicle’s launch in Q3.

Standard equipment for the Geely EX2 includes:

  • Rear-wheel drive platform with additional frunk storage
  • Multi-link independent rear suspension
  • GEA platform, allowing smarter optimisation of space
  • Liquid-cooled battery pack

Further vehicle information and final pricing will be announced closer to the Geely EX2’s arrival later this year.
