GENESIS HAS BROUGHT THE GV80 model line-up in line with other models by offering a single, fully-featured specification that adopts the Signature naming convention and headlined the range with the exclusive GV80 Black and GV80 Coupe Black. 

The 2.5T-GDi powertrain is reintroduced for 2026 GV80 Signature while Black variants are based exclusively on the formidable GV80 Signature 3.5T-GDi AWD. 

In a first for Genesis Motors Australia, 2026 GV80 is enhanced with the introduction of Digital Key 2.0, which brings convenient smartphone lock/unlock and engine start. 

An optional six-seater interior configuration is available for 2026 GV80, while the previously offered rear seat entertainment package is discontinued.

 2026 GV80 BLACK 

2026 GV80 Black and GV80 Black Coupe are offered exclusively with the 3.5T-GDi powertrain and represent a bold expression of aesthetic purity. 

Based on the Signature specification level, the Black variants capture and reflect light with precision, while the interior envelops occupants with rich textures, bespoke materials, and an elegant mood, to provide an immersive luxury experience. 

The creation of 2026 GV80 Black and GV80 Coupe Black saw Genesis designers trial countless black variations for each material, carefully considering how they interacted with light, how they looked in conjunction with other components, and the overall ambience they created. 

Naturally, GV80 Black and GV80 Coupe Black are offered exclusively with a Black exterior and black Nappa leather interior.

In line with Genesis Motors’ sustainability ambitions, 2026 GV80 Black and GV80 Coupe Black utilise a range of eco-friendly materials, including leather upholstery and door trims dyed using recycled carbon black extracted from waste tyres. 

DIGITAL KEY 2.0 

2026 GV80 is the first Genesis to introduce Digital Key 2.0 as part of the innovative Genesis Connected Services suite. 

Digital Key 2.0 lets users enjoy the convenience of front and rear door lock and unlock, and engine start, using their smartphone or smartwatch. 

Digital Key 2.0 features both near-field communication (NFC) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology and lets users lock and unlock the vehicle from approximately one metre away.​

Activating and registering Digital Key 2.0 requires that users link 2026 GV80 to an active Genesis Connected Services account. Once registered, the Digital Key lives in the user’s smartphone wallet.​ 

Smart devices with UWB function, can control the vehicle without touch, while smartphones without UWB can utilise NFC by tapping the smartphone against the door handle to open the car door, and on the NFC wireless reader to start the car.​ 

Digital Key 2.0 can be stored on one device and shared with up to 15 devices. ​ 

The system does not need a mobile network signal to work and will continue to function if the smartphone battery is flat (not compatible with all smartphones – check compatibility with manufacturer). 

G2.5 FR T-GDi POWERTRAIN 

2026 GV80 reintroduces the 2.5T-GDi four-cylinder powertrain, which is offered alongside the flagship twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6. 

The 2.5T-GDi engine produces 224 kW and 422 Nm and provides a useful blend of performance and efficiency. 

The advanced powertrain features a range of innovative technologies designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, while enhancing power and responsiveness. 

2.5T-GDi powertrain highlights include:

• Dual fuel injection system combines Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) and Multi-Point Injection (MPi) for optimal combustion under all conditions.
• Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) featuring an electrically controlled intake valve actuator (e-CVVT) improves efficiency and throttle response.
• A single turbocharger delivers strong performance with assistance from a Tuned Intake System (TIS), which enhances torque and efficiency at low engine speeds.
• The G2.5 FR T-GDi engine is Euro 5 emissions compliant, runs on 95 RON premium unleaded petrol, and achieves a combined cycle fuel consumption of 10.4 L/100 km 

All-Wheel Drive

The Genesis All Wheel Drive (AWD) system is an advanced rear-wheel drive biased system that optimally apportions torque between the front and rear axles. 

This is achieved through a multi-mode system featuring an electronic, variable-torque-split clutch with active torque control. 

Chassis

2025 GV80 delivers serene ride comfort thanks to the application of Hydro G-Bushings in the front suspension.

Hydro G-Bushings, which were previously applied only to the rear suspension, encapsulate fluid within the bushing to absorb external vibrations more effectively than conventional rubber bushings.  

Brakes

2026 GV80 features large, monoblock front brake calipers for powerful performance and a sporty image.
