THE MOVE TO EVS SHOWS NO signs of slowing with Honda announcing the release of its e:HEV hybrid that will expand across the CR-V range, providing greater accessibility to its masterfully smooth performance and polished driving dynamics, starting from $49,990 (plus on road costs).

The changes, which headline the 2026 refresh are complemented by the addition of an e:HEV AWD variant, tying together smooth and responsive hybrid performance with intelligent AWD capability providing families the confidence to explore off the beaten track of conquer unpredictable weather conditions.

Elsewhere in the CR-Vs 2026 upgrades are new technologies to the range, with driver aids such as a 360-degree camera and Driveaway auto door lock added alongside comfort additions including heated rear seats and ventilated front seats.

Honda Australia Director of Automotive, Robert Thorp, said with the rapidly growing demand for hybrid power, rolling Honda’s e:HEV hybrid powertrain down the CR-V range would encourage more drivers to get behind the wheel of one of the most driver-friendly vehicles in its class.

“CR-V’s smooth and responsive hybrid powertrain paired with the direct and confidence-inspiring handling found in all Hondas, is a thrill no longer reserved for the top of range,” said Mr. Thorp.

“Australians are choosing hybrids in record numbers and with our e:HEV, we know we have one of the best there is on in both power delivery and economy”.

“Expanding e:HEV down the range means you can now get into a hybrid CR-V for around $7000 less than in 2025. Add in hybrid AWD and there really is an option for everybody.”

The Honda CR-V carries more than 30 years of equity in family life and has won many awards globally and locally along the way with the current 6th generation News Corp Car of the Year and Drive.com.au’s Best Medium SUV (under $50k).

The significant changes to the CR-V range head a busy year for Honda Australia with Honda ZR-V also set to expand e:HEV across its range and changes to HR-V and Civic. Honda Australia will also launch two all-new products with the rebirth of an icon in the shape of Prelude, and introduction of its first battery electric vehicle, the diminutive Honda Super-ONE.
