IT’S AS PREDICTABLE AS AN EV BUYER asking what the range is. Ute buyers want to know price, towing capacity and payload.

JAC Motors has released details of its new ute, the Hunter.

The all-new Hunter PHEV 4×4 ute will start from under $50,000 (plus on road costs), a breakthrough price point for a ute delivering this level of performance, capability and efficiency.

And when it comes to doing the hard work, Hunter doesn’t hold back. Towing capacity is 3500kg braked and payload is quoted at 915kg across the entire range.

• 360kW class-leading power
• 3500kg braked towing capacity
• 915kg payload
• Up to 1005km combined range (based on NEDC fuel and energy consumption*)
• 1.6L/100km combined fuel consumption (NEDC)

Built on a sophisticated dual powertrain system combining a 2.0T GDI engine with dual electric motors, Hunter delivers relentless pulling power whether towing at full capacity, on site, or on the open road.

A 31.2kWh LFP battery, 4WD with front and rear differential locks, and V2L capability ensure Hunter is as versatile as it is powerful.
Towing confidence without compromise

Unlike conventional hybrids, Hunter delivers full 3500kg towing capacity, providing consistent, dependable performance when it matters most.

This is towing engineered for real-world Australia, not laboratory conditions.

Engineered with global performance expertise

Hunter’s capability is backed by world-class engineering collaboration, with input from Michael Barber of Multimatic, the team behind some of the most advanced high-performance and off-road vehicle programs in the world.

This partnership has helped shape Hunter’s ride, handling and steering balance, ensuring it performs under load, not just on paper.

A new benchmark in value.

“Our focus was simple, deliver a truly work-ready ute with class-leading power, serious towing capability and outstanding efficiency, without the premium price tag,” said Ahmed Mahmoud, Managing Director at JAC Motors Australia.

“With Hunter, we’re giving Australian buyers everything they’ve been asking for and more, at a price point that changes the conversation.”

Built for Australia. Proven the hard way.

Hunter isn’t just designed for Australia, it’s been tested here.

Under Project: No Shortcuts, Hunter completed a 50,000km local validation program, tackling extreme heat, heavy rain, rough unsealed roads and long-distance touring.
