KEEPING UP WITH THE NEW MINI range is becoming more difficult. Now, Mini Australia has introduced a series of technical enhancements to the Mini Countryman range from March 2026 production, bringing increased power and electrified performance for petrol models, alongside improved efficiency and range potential for fully electric variants.

The updates also introduce compliance with the latest EU6e emissions standard and WLTP certification requirements across the range, reflecting MINI’s ongoing focus on advancing powertrain technology, efficiency and sustainability.

More power and faster acceleration with new mild hybrid technology

The most significant change is the introduction of 48V mild hybrid technology across Mini Countryman C and S ALL4 petrol models, delivering improvements in both performance and drivability.

MINI Countryman C

  • Power increases to 125kW (+10 kW) and 280Nm (+50 Nm)
  • 0–100 km/h improves by 0.7 seconds to 8.3s
  • Fuel consumption: 6.9 L/100 km (combined)
  • CO₂ emissions: 155 g/km

MINI Countryman S ALL4

  • Power increases to 160kW (+10 kW) and 360Nm (+50 Nm)
  • 0–100 km/h improves by 0.3 seconds to 7.1s
  • Fuel consumption: 7.3 L/100 km (combined)
  • CO₂ emissions: 164 g/km

The integration of mild hybrid technology enables both models to recover and redeploy energy during driving, improving efficiency while maintaining MINI’s signature go-kart driving feel.

Improved electric efficiency and range potential for BEV models

The fully electric Mini Countryman range receives a significant hardware upgrade with the introduction of a new Silicon Carbide (SiC) inverter.

The benefits include:

  • More efficient energy conversion and power delivery
  • Improved energy recuperation during braking
  • Enhanced overall drivetrain efficiency

Updated WLTP driving range figures for current models include:

  • MINI Countryman E: up to 501 km (WLTP)
  • MINI Countryman SE ALL4: up to 467 km (WLTP)

The new SiC inverter is expected to improve real-world efficiency, particularly in urban and stop-start driving conditions.

JCW retains performance focus with updated emissions compliance

The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 has been updated to meet the latest emissions standards, while preserving its core performance characteristics.

  • Maintains 400Nm of torque
  • No change to acceleration
  • Fuel consumption: 8.3L/100 km (combined)
  • CO₂ emissions: 188g/km

A more capable Countryman, whatever the powertrain

These latest updates reinforce the Mini Countryman’s position as the brand’s most versatile model, offering customers:

  • Improved performance through electrification
  • Greater efficiency across all powertrains
  • Enhanced electric driving capability
  • Increased practicality and consistency across the line-up

Whether powered by petrol or electricity, the updated MINI Countryman delivers a more capable, efficient and refined driving experience.
