DELIVERING A COMPLETE RANGE of advanced, clever and dynamically polished five- and seven-seat large SUV models, Škoda has released the Kodiaq Select plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) arriving from $63,490 (plus on road costs).

The petrol and electric version of the Kodiaq Select is ideally positioned above the petrol-only Kodiaq Select (at $54,990 plus on road costs) and Kodiaq Sportline (at $58,990 plus on road costs) while providing a distinct alternative to the performance-focused Kodiaq RS (at $68,990 plus on road costs)

The Škoda Kodiaq Select PHEV delivers 150kW and 350Nm from its combination of a 1.5 TSI engine and 85kW/330Nm electric motor, with a 100km/h time of 8.4 seconds.

It also offers up to 112km of WLTP range, with 11kW AC charging and 50kW DC charging for an ideal blend of on-road charging options, and just 1.85L/100km combined cycle fuel consumption.

In addition to being perfectly positioned within the Kodiaq five- and seven-seat range, the Select PHEV also complements a third powertrain choice in the Škoda range, the fully electric Enyaq Sportline 85 (at $59,990 plus on road costs) and Enyaq Sportline 85 Coupé (at $65,990 plus on road costs).

Škoda director Lucie Kuhn said the brand now offers Australian families a complete range of large SUV options suited to their every need, with five or seven seats, petrol, PHEV or electric.

“Škoda is pleased to deliver to Australian customers a turbocharged, seven-seat all-wheel drive Kodiaq with a high level of standard equipment,” Ms Kuhn said.

“In addition to this, we can now offer a Kodiaq PHEV with 112km of electric only range, to reduce emissions while retaining performance. We have recently launched the Kodiaq RS with even greater performance than the previous model, and our Enyaq fully electric SUV range with more range and value than ever.

“Our comprehensive offerings in the large SUV segment are all backed by a seven-year, unlimited kilometre warranty and guaranteed future value (GFV) with Škoda Choice, for complete peace of mind.”

With the Kodiaq PHEV, customers can select E-mode electric drive or hybrid drive options in the vehicle touchscreen, with a choice of low, high or automatic brake energy recuperation and two battery power usage methods – automatic (which can use the engine to recharge the battery) and manual (which exclusively awaits plug-in charging to recharge the battery).

With five seats, the plug-in version of the Kodiaq features an expansive 745 litre boot volume.

The Kodiaq Select PHEV gets the same high level of standard equipment as every Select, including: 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless access, heated and power folding door mirrors, power adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, tri-zone climate control air conditioning, 13-inch infotainment with DAB+ and navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, twin wireless chargers with 15W and active ventilation plus 5x USB-C ports (including rear-view mirror port).

Adaptive Cruise Control with Travel Assist and Traffic Jam Assist, Side Assist, Lane Assist with Adaptive Lane Guidance, Turn Assist, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and nine airbags are standard.

A $6500 option for both the Kodiaq Select and Kodiaq Select PHEV, the Signature Package includes: eight-way massage front seats, power adjustable passenger seat with lumbar and memory, Intelligent Park Assist, Surround Area View, Matrix LED headlights with Dynamic Light Assist, illuminated front grille, Virtual Pedal (hands free tailgate), heated steering wheel, heated outboard seats, head-up display and rear dynamic indicators.
