Arriving with advanced efficiency, impressive electric-only driving capability and the premium German engineering, both models strengthen the brand’s push toward accessible electrification for Australian families.
Built on Volkswagen’s latest generation plug-in hybrid platform, the Tiguan eHybrid and Tayron eHybrid combine a 1.5 litre TSI petrol engine with a powerful electric motor, delivering system outputs of 150kW or 200kW (model dependent). A 19.7kWh battery enables an electric-only driving range of 113 to 117km (WLTP), more than enough for the average daily commute and ideal for low-cost, low-emission local driving.
Both models support AC charging up to 11kW and DC fast charging up to 40kW, allowing drivers to replenish energy quickly whether at home, at work or on the go. Combined fuel consumption is an exceptional 1.6 to 1.8L/100km, elevating efficiency without compromising space, comfort or Volkswagen’s renowned driving confidence.
