AUSTRALIAN OWNERS OF THE MERCEDES-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ hatchback and CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ Coupé now have the opportunity to extract even greater grip and dynamic performance from their vehicles.

For the first time, Mercedes-AMG now offers Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tyres as a manufacturer-approved accessory for this pair of high-performance vehicles.

Two sizes of the Trofeo R in Mercedes-Benz ‘M01’ specification are available in Australia to suit the AMG A 45 S and CLA 45 S models. The tyres are offered in sizes of 245/35 ZR19 and 255/35 ZR19 respectively, and match the exact dimensions, load and speed ratings as the original equipment tyres fitted to these vehicles as standard.

The Trofeo R tyre was developed by Pirelli Motorsport, the official tyre supplier of Formula 1, which describes it as “the ultimate track day tyre”. Developed specifically for high-powered vehicles, its claimed benefits include greater effective grip, increased stability under braking, better lateral rigidity in cornering, and more precise steering response.

While the low-profile Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tyre can legally be driven on the road, it is designed to optimise track-day performance in dry and mild ambient conditions.

The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ and CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ Coupé feature the world’s most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine in series production (310 kW/500 Nm) plus renowned Mercedes-AMG driving dynamics, and have been characterised as “the super-sportscars of the compact class”. The sprint from 0-100km/h is performed in 3.9 seconds and 4.0 seconds for the A 45 S and CLA 45 S respectively.

As standard, the Mercedes-AMG pair are fitted with capable and highly versatile Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rubber that is well suited to a variety of road and track driving applications in a broad range of conditions.

Pirelli’s P-Zero Trofeo R tyre is now available as a manufacturer-approved accessory through authorised Mercedes-AMG retailers in Australia.
