HYUNDAI HAS SIMPLIFIED the 2026 IONIQ 5 and 2026 IONIQ 5 N range, and added the convenience of Hyundai Digital Key 2.0 smartphone entry and start across the range.
The 2026 IONIQ 5 range is revised from 14 to three variants, with the 125kW RWD 63kWh variant discontinued along with the Digital Side Mirror option (something that divided opinion).
2026 IONIQ 5 N is revised from two variants to a single grade with a standard Vision Roof.
The high-performance flagship also benefits from features and functionalities that came as part of the MY25 update.
These include LED headlights upgraded with Intelligent Front Lighting System (IFS), auto up/down functionality for all windows, and a haptic feedback steering wheel.
In addition, the N Drift Optimiser Pro system is updated with more customisation options and greater functionality, and the N Active Sound system logic is updated.
2026 IONIQ 5 model naming is revised, too, with the range-opener continuing as IONIQ 5 while the mid and high grades now align with the broader Hyundai range:
- IONIQ 5 Dynamiq becomes IONIQ 5 Elite
- IONIQ 5 Epiq becomes IONIQ 5 N Line Premium

Hyundai Digital Key 2.0
2026 IONIQ 5 features Hyundai Digital Key 2.0 among an array of innovative Bluelink Connected Car Services. Digital Key 2.0 is a smartphone-based car key that lets users lock, unlock and start their car.
Digital Key 2.0 functionality depends on whether the smartphone or watch is NFC- or UWB-enabled.
Smartphones without UWB can utilise NFC by tapping the smartphone against the door handle to open the car door and on the NFC wireless reader to start the car.
Smartphones with UWB function can control the vehicle without touch by simply walking up to it with a compatible device.
To activate and register Digital Key 2.0, users should link 2026 IONIQ 5 to an active Hyundai Bluelink account. Once registered, the Digital Key will live in the user’s smartphone wallet.
Digital Key 2.0 can be stored on one device and shared with up to 15 compatible devices. It does not need a mobile network signal to work and will still function if the smartphone battery is flat (not compatible with all smartphones).
NFC Cards are not included with 2026 IONIQ 5 and are available as an accessory.
Exterior Colours
2026 IONIQ 5 is available in a choice of 10 colours, depending on the variant, with Celadon Grey Matte joining the palette.
2026 IONIQ 5 N is offered in a choice of nine colours headlined by the hero Performance Blue in both gloss and matte finishes.
Interior Colours
A black interior has been standardised across the 2026 IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 5 N line up, in line with customer demand.
The N Line Premium trim features suede and leather appointed seats, while a choice of two light-coloured interiors is offered as a no cost option for the Elite trim.
